Tamsulosin is used for: Treatment of enlargement of the prostate gland in men. This condition is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Tamsulosin (tam-SOO-loh-sin) is used to treat the signs and symptoms of benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). Benign enlargement of the prostate is a problem that can occur in men as they get older. The prostate gland is located below the bladder. As the prostate gland enlarges, certain muscles in the gland may become tight and get in the way of the tube that drains urine from the bladder. This can cause problems in urinating, such as a need to urinate often, a weak stream when urinating, or a feeling of not being able to empty the bladder completely.Tamsulosin helps relax the muscles in the prostate and the opening of the bladder. This may help increase the flow of urine and/or decrease the symptoms. However, tamsulosin will not shrink the prostate. The prostate may continue to get larger. Betaxolol usually is used twice a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use betaxolol exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.If you are using the suspension form of betaxolol eyedrops (Betoptic S), shake the bottle well before each dose. It is not necessary to shake betaxolol eyedrop solution.Betaxolol controls glaucoma but does not cure it. Continue to use betaxolol even if you feel well. Do not stop using betaxolol without talking to your doctor.To use the eyedrops, follow these instructions: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Use a mirror or have someone else put the drops in your eye. If using the betaxolol suspension eyedrops, shake the bottle well. Remove the protective cap. Make sure that the end of the dropper is not chipped or cracked. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anything else. Hold the dropper tip down at all times to prevent drops from flowing back into the bottle and contaminating the remaining contents. Lie down or tilt your head back. Holding the bottle between your thumb and index finger, place the dropper tip as near as possible to your eyelid without touching it. Brace the remaining fingers of that hand against your cheek or nose. With the index finger of your other hand, pull the lower lid of the eye down to form a pocket. Drop the prescribed number of drops into the pocket made by the lower lid and the eye. Placing drops on the surface of the eyeball can cause stinging. Close your eye and press lightly against the lower lid with your finger for 2-3 minutes to keep the medication in the eye. Do not blink. Replace and tighten the cap right away. Do not wipe or rinse it off. Wipe off any excess liquid from your cheek with a clean tissue. Wash your hands again.

Without ergosterol as part of the cell membrane, the membrane is weakened and damaged, and essential constituents of the fungal cells can leak out. This kills the fungi. Hydrocortisone acetate is a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid (or steroid). Corticosteroids are hormones that are produced naturally by the adrenal glands, and have many important functions, including control of inflammatory responses. Hydrocortisone is used to decrease inflammation in the skin. When applied to the skin it is absorbed into the skin cells. Here it works by preventing the release of certain chemicals from the cells. These chemicals are important in the immune system, and are released as a result of irritation. They cause blood vessels to widen, resulting in the affected area of skin becoming red, swollen, itchy and painful. By decreasing the release of these chemicals in the skin, hydrocortisone reduces inflammation and relieves itch.This combination of medicines is used to treat athlete's foot, and another fungal infection of the skin called Candidal intertrigo. This is inflammation that occurs between folds of skin, eg between the buttocks or beneath the breasts, and is due to overgrowth of Candida species of fungi in these warm, moist areas. The hydrocortisone in this medicine reduces the inflammation associated with athlete's foot and candidal intertrigo, while the miconazole kills the fungi causing the infection. Once the inflammation has cleared up, treatment can be continued with a medicine containing just an antifungal, eg Daktarin cream or powder.What is it used for?
